Cookie Policy

This one’s short, because cookies really aren’t that complicated once someone explains them without the jargon. Here’s what riichimirza.com actually does.

What a Cookie Even Is?

Just a tiny text file your browser holds onto when you visit a site. It doesn’t know your name, doesn’t read your emails, doesn’t watch you through your webcam, despite what some corners of the internet seem to believe. It mostly just remembers small things, like whether you’ve seen a popup already, or feeds anonymous usage numbers to analytics tools.

What This Site Uses Them For?

Mainly analytics. Google Analytics drops a cookie so it can tell, in aggregate, how people move through the site, which posts get read, which tools get used, that kind of thing. There’s nothing in there that’s tied to your name or identity, just patterns across a lot of visitors.

A few of the free tools might also use a cookie or similar local storage to remember a setting you picked mid-session, like a unit preference or a previous input, so you don’t have to re-enter it if you navigate away and come back. Nothing sinister, just convenience.

There’s no advertising network running on this site, so you won’t find the kind of cross-site tracking cookies that follow you around showing the same ad on five different websites. That’s just not how this site makes money.

Turning Them Off

Every browser lets you block or clear cookies, usually somewhere in the privacy or security settings. Doing that won’t break the site entirely, but analytics obviously won’t be able to track your visit anymore, and a couple of the tools might forget your last input between sessions since that’s literally what the cookie was doing for you.

If This Changes

Should I ever add something that changes how cookies work here, an ad network, a login system, anything like that, I’ll update this page and the date at the top so it’s obvious something shifted.

Questions

Contact form, WhatsApp, or email, whatever’s easier. I’ll answer personally.
